Charlotte Design Team Helps Re-locate NYC Client to Winston Salem

NYC Client, Winston Salem Contractor and Charlotte Interior Design Team Work Together to Master Communication Between Different States

Weekly progress conference calls and email/photo updates were key to the success of this Royce Too project. Formerly located in the Empire State Building in the middle of Manhattan, Royce Too decided to re-locate their main office to Winston Salem, NC. The main objective was to create an inviting and collaborative environment. Every one on the team, including Barrett Woodyard’s engineering team, Cassidy Turley’s project manager, Landmark Builders’ team, and the rep at Meadows Office Furniture, were dedicated to making this new location a great space for Royce Too.

“We truly appreciate the efforts Studio Fusion undertook on the Royce Too Corporate Office project. The team was focused, creative and highly professional throughout and kept to a tight timeline and within budget. The superb design of the space and the furnishings reflects the attention to detail that was brought to the project. All of us at Royce are thrilled with the space and look forward to future projects together.” – Barbara Rosenthal, VP & General Counsel, Royce Too LLC

NC Music Factory Apartments Submitted for Re-Zoning

5-Story Luxury Apartments in Uptown Charlotte to be Completed in 2014

As the multi-family market continues to grow in Charlotte, Studio Fusion Architecture and The ARK Group team together to develop a luxury apartment concept adjacent to the NC Music Factory. Submitted for re-zoning at the end of February, the team has developed a 200-unit concept at the corner of N. Graham Street and NC Music Factory Boulevard. Submitted for re-zoning at the end of February, the 5-story project is moving forward into design with an anticipated groundbreaking in early 2013.

Noah Lazes, President of the ARK Group, stated “Residential development is the next logical step in developing the NC Music Factory, which currently generates traffic in excess of 1,000,000 people per year.”

After vetting several different schemes, the team has developed a 200-unit concept at the corner of N. Graham Street and NC Music Factory Boulevard. The Music Factory Apartments are sure to impress those passing by along the I-277 corridor.

Jason Newsome

Jason Newsome from Studio Fusion explains, “We are all very excited to see these ideas come to life. The whole team has worked hard to develop an exceptional concept for this site and I think we will create a very unique and successful residential project.” Newsome estimates that the project will be completed in the Spring of 2014.

The Music Factory Apartments project will have a mix of studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom apartments, and will include state-of-the-art amenities. Residents will have the option to relax by an infinity-edge pool with a beautiful view of the Charlotte skyline, enjoy a movie in the community theatre, grill out with friends in the interior courtyard, or take a quick walk down the street to several of Uptown’s most popular entertainment venues.

A Bark House Wall and Logo-Etched Tint Add Pizzazz to this Headquarter’s Office Space

The headquarters of Commercial Flooring Solutions (CFS), located in Charlotte, NC, is the result of the company’s growth into six other states on the East Coast. With the addition of double glass doors, a logo-etched glass tint, custom bark wood-paneled walls, new cabinetry, and several other modifications, we transformed the CFS breakroom, conference room, and executive offices into a clean and modern work environment.

Nan Miller

Nan Miller says, “The client loved rich, dark woods and wanted an unique design flare distinguish their space. The Bark House panels in their newly renovated Conference Room would do just that. From the moment we both saw the Bark House sample, we were sold! The natural wood walls blended nicely with their modern design wood furniture. Their new storefront glass system also allowed for the Bark House panels to be shown off not only in the Conference Room but throughout their new open office area as well. These walls became one of the focal features in the office.”

CFS was not going for any LEED certification but we did use some green materials such as:

1. The tile floor in their renovated break room was Lea Ceramiche, Bioessenze which is manufactured with 40% or pre-consumer recycled materials. Bioessenze is obtained by means of a safe production cycle that fully respects the environment since it does not emit pollutants into the atmosphere and water. It uses widely available natural resources, no trees are felled and it recycles ceramic waste from manufacturing at an amount of 20% of its weight. Click here to view this product on their website.

We also used Hanstone countertops in their renovated break room. Click here to view their green literature PDF.

The GC was Harker Doerre and Allen Holloway was their Project Manager.
